Last Weekend.....

We locked the door on Shabbilybythesea last weekend and headed back to the city....the room we have been so busy in looked like this when we left,this is the view in the opposite direction and you can see it follows into a sun room which will soon have french doors into the garden.......

This weekend we will be busy painting in here.....i will also be painting the fireplace top to bottom in a delicious paint named 'slipper satin'......Steve added deep architrave to the cupboard doors and paneled the wall above i think he is doing an amazing job........

I planted a David Austin rose by my front door last weekend called 'James Galway' it is said it has a delicious old rose sent mmmmmmm.....

It will look like this when it flowers by my front door......

Makes me think of the movie Cheri......

I had a little treat this week too from the lovely Alison at vintage amethyst,she has in her beautiful shop this very pretty mini bunting and at £4.50 how you can you say no?

Home Sweet Home.......

Some weeks later we arrived home Friday night to discover Shabbilybythesea had been well looked after by our feathered guests who had returned this year to live and raise their young with us once again.....i think she very much approves of Steve's taller chimney.........(click on any picture for a better view)

The sun rose over the sea next morning and the fire was stoked while we sat enjoying a bacon sandwich and a nice cup of tea before the days work began......

The happy couple kept a close eye on us all day as they gathered twigs to finish their home,as we cut wood outside it almost felt like a race to see who would finish first.....

Planks were cut and primed for a paneled wall above the fireplace,this has since been fitted and will be painted this coming weekend......

There was a hive of activity in the room which i had posted in my last post,as you can see from the picture it is looking very different.....

I hear we are in for a heat wave of a weekend....fingers crossed eh girls?
