Friends and a Boudior

I have spent most of this week hugging my dear sweet little friend 'Pom Pom' as i have not felt on top of the world and although i  have started projects feeling unwell has drained my creativity and i ended up playing with fabrics and trims for hours on end only to finish with lots of pretty pieces in a heap but nothing sewn together....it was time to give in and sleep......

Beatrix Rose Pom Pom Potter
Affectionately i call her 'Mummy's little peeper' as every time i move she peeps to see where i am going......
Peeping
It is lovely to have a best friend keeping an eye on you when you are not yourself but not so good if you are eating anything like an apple or crisps....
Sweet Beautiful Girl
This next week shall be a  better one and i will finish my projects and get  to share them with you and a  day at the beach cottage tomorrow should have me back on track!

I found the two pictures below online with no links to where they originally came from and i would love to know who it belongs to as i would love to see the rest of the house,do any of my dear readers know? are they from a book? or a blog?

I had sent the pictures to Christie from Chateau De Fleurs as i know from Pintrest she would love these rooms.......i have had these pictures on my desktop forever and not once did i see they were of the same room but Christie did straight away! Thank you Christie x

The shades on the chandelier, the bed and lace swagged pelmet with shell and swagged flowers, the ribbon work bed spread and lace cushion, the white fireplace, the soft glowing wall lights, the mirror and the piled high dressing table with draped roses,oh my!  if you get to choose an image for heaven this surely will be mine.......
I adore everything about this room especially the lamp shade on the floor to the right of the picture below and a pink chaise longue covered in pretty pillows,do you like the roses trailing over the drapes?
It is cold here today in England and i think it is time to get out the feather duvets for the chilly nights we are having and order some logs for the fire,i am still waiting for my  Creating Vintage Charm magazine to arrive as it can take up to two weeks to arrive from America,i will pop it on my blog as soon as it arrives for you to see,

Have a lovely shabbily weekend xxx

The End

Ah Pom Pom is sooooo cute. I have fur allergies which trigger asthma but I would risk it all to cuddle her (does she moult?). What a little sweetheart, I love her peeping eye, so dark brown and trustful.
Those boudior pics are so inspiring aren't they, and very you!!!!!!
Have a lovely time tomorrow as always, send my love to the sea.
Thanks for posting on my blog today, re the Princess's poem. So cute isn't it. Bless!!!

Hi K,
Thanks for your message on my blog!

I've not seen these more recent photos of the gorgeous boudoir that you've shown, but I am pretty certain they are the bedroom of actress Virginia Wetherell (who was married to the lovely, but sadly late Ralph Bates.) I have an old 1980's book entitled 'The Englishwoman's Bedroom', where this room was featured. It has moved on since then, but still has the same basic features and stunning collections. I wrote about it on my blog once.
I'll send you some links in a minute, as you would LOVE her style!

Have a fab weekend,
Niki :)

Yes I think it is Virginia's she's a lovely lady who was married to the Hammer Horror actor Ralph Bates who died young. I met her years ago via my Hammer Horror connections as well as shared love of victoriana, if you get a chance to visit London her shop is in Notting Hill and well worth a visit.
