I walk by the river....my lavender parasol protecting me from falling rain.....smells of autumn in the air.....my ballet shoes damp from the long wet grass....
The End xI look across the water at a pretty cottage and see a dove cote hiding behind a tree...i would like to take of my ballet shoes and hold them in one hand while i gather my dress in the other and tip toe through the water and run up to the front door calling "i'm home!"......but i don't live here and i'm not in a film....but it would seem once again i'm in a day dream......
I walk on happy in my day dream across pretty meadows...my ankles now wet and my dress is heavy as it swishes against the long wet grass....i arrive at a bridge and lean over to look into the rushing water...it thunders past and takes your senses as you hear nothing but its mighty roar...i gaze up to see a beautiful cottage nestled between two larger ones in the distance and i'm in love.......
I imagine a girl opening the gate and skipping through the long grass with a basket of clothes to wash in the river below....this is my day dream so i decide the girl will be me....i carry on across the bridge wanting to get closer to my pretty cottage....
What a Beautiful chimney....i think of logs crackling and the freshly washed clothes drying by the fireside.......
The water thunders under the bridge....i hurry to the other side as i can see something written on the wall......
Emma?...........
Oh i see.....Emma..........she has picked flowers from the meadows and is on her way home......
I watch as she crosses an old bridge with its worn stones under foot towards my cottage......
She opens the gate and walks up to the door......I look one last time at her pretty cottage before i make my way home...it is beautiful i think to myself and its not like i can't walk past now and again and day dream is it?

This post is pure magic. I really hope a lot of people read it, I was lost in your words - day dreaming is magical.
The photos are really pretty and the house looks lush.
I love walks in the country. It's really grey and miserable here today so I am thinking about nice things like bonfire night, toffee apples, Christmas shopping and wondering how my dear little girl is getting on at the junior school today. It's her first day!

You created a beautiful vision for everyone here. You really have a gift for creating word pictures. xo Diana
I walked in the rain today, loving it after a long, hot summer of little rain. I wore my London Fog rain coat with the hood that I bought for my first trip to England. I had nice memories in the coat. The best memories. Only I wasn't walking in the English country side this morning. I was on my way across campus to my 8 AM class. I'd much rather follow you in your beautiful daydream. One day perhaps. Lovely photos.
That was beautiful ...really took me away!
xoxo

Oh dear, dear blogger,
You have captured my heart so. First of all, you came to visit me, and thank you for leaving a comment. I so adore my UK friends, and I see that Gem is here. Your photos, your prose, all of this is what I love and need for a Friday after teaching all week.
THANK YOU for this tour of what I suspect is England. What a magical place!!!
PLEASE COME ANYTIME!!! Anita
Lovely photos & words to go with it!

Oh, gosh, I felt like I was right there in your dream...walking thru the wet grass, getting on the bridge, and then, when I saw her name..EMMA...I woke up from my day dream with you. EMMA was my grandmother's name. :)))
I have wandered onto your blog and, like Alice, tumbled into your very pretty daydream. When I found a Rusty Rabbit my mind was made-up.
I have immediately signed-up to follow you.
