Hows everyone?
..............Enjoying June?
............................Looking forward to the promise of summer?
So is it just me or does Farrow and Ball "old white" not look white at all? more greenish grey, not that i don't love it just an odd name for a paint that doesn't look white...well i painted all the wood work ' old white' and primed the Cupboard doors.....looking good isn't it? if you click on the picture below you can see the cladding on the ceiling,i really love it.....right lets go through the door into the hall......
Ermmmmmm attractive? no i think not lol.........the glass paned door had been built to create a tiny porch area...we knocked and smashed it all down and it looks so much bigger.....
All the walls were removed along with skirting, dado rail,in fact everything was removed right back to the frame, right lets go back in the room and look inside the cupboard which now thanks to my guy is all sparkling new,so much nicer don't you think?......see i painted the ceiling?......i love that he fitted skirting board and coving inside the cupboard with out me even asking, hes a keeper for sure.......
A shopping break at TK Maxx resulted in a beautiful thick linen rosey table cloth and i loved the colours of these fluffy, soft face cloths together.....all packed away in our bottom drawer.....the chair they are pictured on was a steal on Ebay for sixty pounds i have seen them for way over a hundred, love me some Ebay!
Back to the beach cottage, the room now painted in the other direction and the trees now nice and green......skirting board ready to go on although we are laying new floor boards on top of the old ones so we can have a nice layer of insulation in between to keep our energy bills nice and low,so it may be a while,or not? you never know with us lol......
Looking down the hall from the kitchen door way,if you were to turn left at the end you would be in the old white room and if you turned right you would be where the paned glass door was...it opens up into a triangle at the end,are you still with me? good, the door you can just see on the left right at the front of the picture would go into the fireplace room and the door to the right is a water closet and i am taking the picture from the kitchen door way......all these walls are now removed and if we......
Walk down to the end of the hallway and turn around woohoo check out all that timber baby! and imagine it white washed and the door stripped,oh i'm in love and can not wait until we have finished and can start painting the hallway white,it looks so much taller......See the door on left water closet...door in front kitchen and door to the right fireplace room..yeah with me? you will soon know your way around here.......
Oh and the lamp from my last post, well its now stripped and is waiting its respray, turned out a lot of the pieces are shiny copper as you can see below from the piece in the middle bottom of the picture,it must have been painted to look like tole ware at one time as the leaves were green and the flowers a dusky pink....

Wow, what a lot of remodeling. But in the end it's always well worth it!
Have a lovely weekend!
farrow and ball paints have all got funny names - blue gray is green etc. :-) Looks great though!
It may not be a true white but it IS a pretty color, dear one. It is all going to look sooo good.
I think the paint color will be just perfect. Can't wait to see the finished results. xo
I`m looking forward to seeing how you progress! It`s all looking divine
