Kitchen before

Good Morning Blogettes,

While at the Beach Cottage we have looked at a flat wall hanging alone in the kitchen above where there is a cooker point(well ok i have been obsessed with it)......after much talk he decided to go investigate above in the attic (to shut me up)....there was no hole from above (hmmmm? i thought) so me and mum decided that because he was so busy building up the bow window and pointing the wall that we should be nice and save him a job and tear down the wall ourselves (well something like that hehe)

Here is what we found (imagine me and mum jumping up and down and squealing while son looks on confused shaking his head) mum is it cupboards? is it? is it? i squealed....

He comes in and laughs at my face which is beaming and tells us we need to use a stanley knife to cut the edge at the top so the ceiling doesn't come down....we try and are not strong enough so we whack it off with a chisel and a hammer as we don't want to disturb him from his important jobs(no one is stealing our glory!)

After hacking, sweeping and giggling we ended up with six cupboard doors and lots of storage...we talk about how it will look great when we strip it back and paint it...about little crystal knobs........then as we are looking my heart nearly stops! there is hard board on the doors (click for bigger picture)

We very carefully pull off the hard board and start jumping and squealing again (easily pleased me and mum)

So this weekend my mother and i will be stripping in the kitchen....(your minds honestly)

We are also removing (whacking) those blue tiles off the wall and hopefully if we can get the plaster off the wall and it looks good enough we might paint the brick a soft white.....so i am imaging the cupboards soft white with aqua panels, chipped and aged....a brick wall in soft white with a large mantel mirror hanging over a retro oven and lace swagged over the little window and a small chandelier smack in the middle of it......best get over there and get whacking hadn't we?

Until later x

Oh Kristina so pleased you popped by.
So much going on here!
How wonderful, a beach cottage, what a brilliant project.
I want to email you, can you send me one if you are ok with that? the link is on my profile.
I have just had a quick peep back and want to say how great your new blog is, love it. I cannot wait to see more of what you will be doing.
Nig has just popped out to play football and I am torn between shall i pack for holiday which is what I ought to be doing really or shall I read my new book which I am so enjoying but only ever manage two pages in bed as I always fall sleep or shall I tidy up and prepare dinner as we are going out for a ride when he gets in and I do not want to come home to a big dinner job...much nicer to have it in the oven waiting.
Or shall I sit and read blogs.
I would love to hear from you Kristina.
Good luck with your new ventures.
Much love,
Carol x
